Our Inspiration

The company was inspired by the movie Forrest Gump, named after the characters in the film, "Bubba" and "Forrest Gump". In the movie, Bubba proposes to Forrest Gump the idea of starting a shrimp-related business.

1996

The Beginning of It All

The first restaurant of the chain opened its doors in 1996 in Monterey, California by Viacom. The owners of Viacom are the proprietors of Paramount Pictures, the distributor of Forrest Gump.

2004

Our First Steps...

Mr. Aguirre, a visionary entrepreneur, had experienced an interesting and unique concept of Bubba Gump in the United States, and decided to bring it to Mexico, specifically to Cancun.

2005

The Grand Opening!

A grand opening event with the visit of Forrest Gump, premieres of the movie in different theaters, aerial advertising, print advertising in newspapers, magazines, and billboards.
